Protecting the privacy of the people who read this site is a basic commitment for forwinesake.com. This policy sets out, in plain terms, what happens to information while you browse, which data may be involved, the legal grounds we rely on under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and the rights you can exercise at any time.

forwinesake.com is an editorial site. It sells nothing, hosts no games, takes no payments and asks for no account. Reading the content requires no personal details of any kind. A limited amount of technical data is still recorded automatically while pages load, because a site cannot be served, secured or improved without it.

The information that may be processed is technical and functional. It can include a truncated IP address, browser type, operating system, screen size, the date and time of a visit and general navigation patterns. On its own none of this identifies a person, and we use it only for aggregate statistics, performance tuning and blocking abusive traffic.

Where analytics tools are used, the purpose is to understand which pages are read, where readers drop off and how quickly content loads. Results are looked at in aggregate. Where the law requires consent — which in the UK covers most non-essential analytics and any advertising cookie — nothing is loaded until you give it through the cookie banner. We do not build individual profiles and we do not run cross-site tracking.

If you contact us through the support form, we receive the name, email address and message you type and nothing else. That correspondence is used solely to answer you, is kept only as long as the exchange is useful, and is never sold, rented or passed to advertisers.

Under UK data protection law you may ask what is held about you, request a correction or erasure, object to a particular use, or ask for processing to be restricted. Reasonable technical and organisational measures — encrypted transport, restricted access, regular updates — protect whatever is stored. This policy may be revised when the site or the law changes, and the current version always sits on this page.
